Direct this! Kevin Vavasseur slated to direct "The Rainbow Revue!

Rainbow Revue Enterprises, Inc., announces that Kevin Vavasseur has been hired to direct "The Rainbow Revue." In a previous incarnation as an actor, Kevin received an NAACP Image Award nomination for his stage work. He has had a recurring role on the NBC sitcom, "A Different World."

Kevin recently participated in the Lincoln Center Theater Directorsí Lab-West, and directed the winning entry for USCís Jerome Lawrence One-Act Play Festival in May 2001. In 1999, he wrote, directed, produced and performed in the well received satirical sketch comedy revue called, "Whatís In My Head?!"

"The experience Kevin brings to us as a director, actor, dancer, writer and comic, is invaluable to us in a production of this magnitude," says creator and producer Matt Gatson. "We are ecstatic that Kevin has agreed to direct this project."

Rainbow Revue Enterprises, Inc., a Lesbian/Gay/Bi/Transgendered focused company, was founded in August 2001. Its first production, "The Rainbow Revue," is a live variety show made up of L/G/B/T talent and is scheduled to debut next spring in Los Angeles.

"We have a vision of offering a road, a path, in which L/G/B/T talent can shine without the stigma or burden of pretense about their sexual orientation or gender identification." According to Gatson, "It is about offering quality entertainment from talented comics, singers, dancers and musicians that are a part of our community at the level of any of the great entertainers of our times."
